I have the blow up lp you refer to and it is recorded on 25th

    list:
    Spiral
    Blow Up
    Herzog
    Maiden Voyage
    Man on Mercury

katonahs was recorded on the day after 26th hence the rarity. having said that blow out is difficult to find too: http://www.musicweb-international.com/jazz/Hutcherson/Rec_BH_HaroldLand_Blow%20Up.htm

  30. yeah, i pulled that from another blogspot a little while back simon.
not really the best person to ask whether it's any good, pharoah sanders could do no wrong in my book.
mind you, i still think it's awesome

    ReplyDelete
  31. yeah I have it too and I'm with you katonah pharoah rules.

I also picked up a live one last summer from 1978 (montreaux i think) with Norman Connors: beyond a dream which is out of this world -- do you know it?

Casino latino is a 15 min killer as is Connors piano solo build up to it. Anyway if not I'll whack you up a copy this weekend. Let me know?
