Makoto Terashita meets Harold Land - Topology 1984

Makoto Terashita meets Harold Land
Topology

Stunning and ultra-rare Japanese jazz masterpiece recorded in 1984. Released on the tiny Aketa's Disk label, this one has been a big want for a long, long time now and it does not disappoint. Many thanks goes to Will T who sent this one over, it s been on constant rotation ever since it landed. Dragon Dance was comped a while back, and look out for Takeuma for a tasty modal joint.

There's a cover artwork picture over at Instagram.

  10. thanks also for this one Katonah.
Enjoying the more laid back tracks but the LP is great!

Glad fusion blogosphere is still there!

PS: while fusion jazz is anchored in the 70s, amazing music can be found all time.

    Focus on recent years:
    - Ibrahim Maalouf OST Je vous souhaite d’être follement aimée [Amazing piano! ... yes I know he is a trumpet player)
    - Jeremiah Jae,DJ and MC, electro jazz, the son of jazz composer and musician, Robert Irving III [Miles Davis Band in he 80s], Jae grew up in a musical home studying classical piano and guitar. Having also taught himself the drums, and played in various bands, Jae's earliest influences included glam rock and the British indie band Placebo. It was only later on, through groups such as Souls of Mischief and Wu-Tang Clan, that he discovered hip-hop and beatmaking. It was this that enabled him to bridge the gap between all his interests.
    - BJ The Chicago Kid , the soul singer with crazy mixtapes
    - Oddisee DJ and MC
    - Little Simz ryhming on very smooth jazz
and much more but I need to sleep now;)

BUY MUSIC BECAUSE THOSE CATS ARE THE MIZZELLS OF THE FUTURS, THE HERBIE HANCOCK OF TOMORROW

    Cheers
