Takin' Care of Business
Recorded 21st October 1970, Philips Studios, London.
Stunning piece of British jazz from this rare Japanese cd. Alan Skidmore is suitably supported by Malcolm Griffiths, John Taylor, Chris Laurence, Tony Levin, Mike Osbourne and John Surman. Picked this one up a while ago for peanuts and was a total surprise to me. This, the title track is an addictively fierce big band piece which takes your breath away. Up there with the John Surman track Dance, from earlier on the blog. Check it out, immense tune indeed.

ReplyDeleteThere seems to be something wrong with the link or the file. I keep getting the message, "The public file you are trying to download is busy due to extreme demand." But that seems very unlikely.
