Greyboy : Freestylin' 1993

Greyboy with Harold Todd & Marc Antoine.
Freestylin'. Produced, Mixed and Recorded at 8th Avenue Studios, San Diego.
Ubiquity, URLP003.

Here's the title track with some top breaks being sampled, including Dee dee Bridgewater from Frank Fosters Loud minority (mainstream) lp. Not a classic, but surely worthy of a listen.

That looks to me like Greyboy is "killing" a black/yellow label prestige slab btw !!

Steady butterfingers ...

  2. Nice stuff katonah, new to me but also brings back memories of the time, working my way into jazz through things like this :)
That Loud Minority sample, to me, is always the United Future organisation track. Even when I eventually heard the original Foster, it made me think of the UFO :)

  6. @Simon

Katonah used to listen to to the likes of bananarama bucks fizz, wham! and the closest thing to spiritual jazz was tight fit classic: the lion sleeps tonight (a wimbo way) when he was growing up... Shhhh! Dont tell him i told you this. He still has the vinyl stashed away in a secret location along with 5 pairs of adidas forest hills!

    Ra rar rasputine...

  8. You could create a free RapidShare Collector's Account, which offers unlimited downloads, Katonah.
After having finished upload you will be asked what to do next. Just click "Create Collector's Account". Works fine for me after some Far East-mates had reported problems with MediaFire, too.

Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Marillion, Queen, Kajagoogoo, Shakin Stevens... From a musical point of view I don't wish my childhood back! ;)

Thanks for Greyboy and all the great stuff posted before!
